Ocean Beach Woman's Club
FAQ
Q: Who is invited?
A: This is a co-ed, 18+, public event!
Q: What date and time is the event, and where is it at?
A: November 3, 2018, from 6pm-10pm (dinner served til’ 8:30pm). It’ll be at the Woman’s Club, 2160 Bacon Street, San Diego, CA.
Q: What do I get for the price of my ticket?
A: Your ticket gets you entry to this fun event, plus Hawaiian style dinner provided by DaKine’s, plus a drink ticket for an alcoholic (21+) or non-alcoholic beverage, plus live DJ music, plus the chance to get raffle tickets to win a ton of amazing raffle prizes, plus getting to mix and mingle with fellow community members, plus other great entertainment! (We’ll also have a cash bar with really reasonable prices for those of you wanting a few more drinks.)
Q: Where is the money from the event ticket sales and the raffle ticket sales going?
A: The proceeds from this fundraiser go toward local community non-profit and other charitable organizations. This year’s beneficiaries include but are not limited to: OB Elementary School; OB Library; OB Historical Society; Urban Surf 4 Kids; OB Scholarship Fund; Doors of Change; Fostering Opportunities Scholarships; Spay-Neuter Action Program; OB Rec. Center; and Nuturely.
Q: Do I need to dress up in luau/Hawaiian themed gear?
A: Dressing up is totally optional! Almost all of the club members dress up for this event, so don’t be shy about dressing up in a Hawaiian shirt or hula skirt if you feel like it. If you don’t have those items, no worries and feel free to come join us in casual clothing.
Q: Parking can sometimes be a hassle in OB, any suggestions for getting there/parking?
A: Sure! Three suggested options: 1) if you park on the neighborhood streets, the streets that are on the north and east side of OB tend to be a bit less crowded; 2) another option is to park at Robb Athletic Field (just check their parking regulation signs to make sure it works for you), and from there it’s less than a 10-minute walk to the Luau; and 3) Uber or Lyft is also a convenient option.
Also, if you happen to park in another part of OB that seems too far to walk, you can call or text OB Shuttle (619) 300-4605 to come pick you up! OB Shuttle is a free, donations-based golf cart shuttle service that serves the OB neighborhood.
